I have a 90g acryllic for sale. 48x 24x 18. The tank has a built in wet dry with bio balls and media. Oak stand with a matching hood. Both are new. I leak checked the tank when I got it and that was it. I had planned on drilling for a closed loop and sump. But I really want a bow front. $500 you pick up. I'll post pics later after I get home.

I have had Alot of PM's with questions so I will try to answer as many as I can.
Is this tank new?- Yes It was never set up. The original owner bought it for a FOWLR and never set it up. He had three other systems running. His wife wanted it out of the house. I leak checked the tank and that was it. It holds water fine.
Condition? Excellent!
Brand of tank? Not sure there were no markings on it when I got it. It is Very sturdy. The front corners are curved and the top and bottom seams are braced. The wet dry media is new and never used. When I bought it it was advertised as a Tru Vu. I have never seen a tru vu tank built like this. This one much beefier and very wall constructed. Not a garage special.
Condition of the stand and canopy? Excellent!
Is it drilled for a sump? No But I do have a 1 1/2 bulkhead I will throw in.
Will I take $100? NO
Will I take $200? NO
Will I take $300 NO
Will I take $400 NO
Do I care about your sob story about having no money and a sick child who's last wish is to have a saltwater tank? NO
Will I accept a cashiers check from Nigeria? NO
I will accept $500 US Dollars. I will deliver locally for a reasonable fee. IE You pay for gas.

In all seriousness, I have seen these tanks before, with the built in wet/dry. I cannot recall the exact brand of the others that I saw, but I did think they were a TruVu also. They are definitely commercially made, not a DIY tank.

Yes I have had two emails from those idiots. If I had a scanner I would post the $10,000 check I got from Nigeria when I was selling a motorcycle last year. I told him my name was Holden McGroin and he sent the check with " Pay to the order of Holden McGroin". I called the FBI but they didn't seem to interested.

May be so. I guess I'm a little jaded. Lately I have sold some things and had people cry poor on the phone then drive up in a $50k BMW to pick it up. This particular lady has had a post on CL of and on for months about her sick child and wanting equipment donated. Then you find equipment for sale on CL BY HER! Sorry if it seems harsh but a scammer is a scammer. Home grown or overseas they are all the same.

I actually found that comment amusing (probably because i knew it was meant in jest). I've met PV1191 and he's a nice guy. Since when did the MARS members become so mad at someone for posting their feelings about being low balled and scammed? I read threads in our area all the time with callous words, and a little bit of spite aimed at others. Give the guy a break, if you don't want to buy the tank them don't. Just don't come on his post and slam him for his opinion on scammers, and posting a little bit of humor.
Besides, if there really was a dying kid who's last wish was to have a saltwater tank i know he'd make it happen.

Good Job Matt! I as well agree, Tom is a super nice guy, never a mean word to say about anyone. As MARS has a bunch of intelligent people in it's group, I would think they would be the first to understand were someone is coming from on the subject of scamming. In no way does anyone want to be taken, not for even a dollar. Well said Tom and sorry about the hard time on this thread.

Here is the problem with posting on RC, folks who do not know you will read 'into' your words and pick up certain connotations that may not be what you intended. I, like some of the folks here, never met you in person and instantly thought - 'wow, what a dick!' after reading the post and just passed it over. I do not think its a MARS thing because really on RC its pretty one on one and I see very little being influenced by the local reefing club.
I can relate to your experiences all too well, and I think most of us have been there a couple times. I am sure you are indeed a nice guy, but at the end of the day its YOUR job to woo me, the potential buyer who has never met you and buys way too many tanks in the first place, and that is not the way to do it in my book. You could have just said, price is firm and got your point across just the same.

As much as it pains me repeating much anything my father once said, "Its not what you say... but how you say it." - especially in written form, where the other 90% of communication (body language) is not there to bring the point home.
