92 G Overflow / Drain Design

Hi I am in the process of setting up a CAD Lights 92G Versa series tank but I not sure what direction to go for the drain / overflow setup. The tank was made with a side corner overflow with a 1" and 1/2" bulkhead. I had CAD lights drill another bulkhead but they added another 1/2" Bulkhead.

My question is with this 3 bulkheads I have whats the best drain setup to run? I am worried if a run a Herbie setup with a 1" siphon with 1/2" return and emergency that there will not be enough flow. Should I enlarge the 2 holes to fit 3/4" Bulkhead or that wont matter? Thanks for any advice.

Here are pictures of the setup. I was even thinking I could drill the back glass to put the return through there if need be. Any thoughts?

Well for a marine system, the 1/2" bulkhead is going to be useless. 1/2" is too small for practical use on this tank, and so is 3/4". Minimum pipe size should be 1", and that includes the return line from the pump.

Important safety advise: If you run a 1" siphon, and a 1/2" for a back up, you are asking for a flood. So as the tank is now, you are not going to get very far. The folks that design these RR tanks, don't have a clue.

Your best bet is to pull the overflow, plug the bottom holes, and drill out the back of the tank, unless the tank is tempered. If the tank is tempered, I would get another tank, such as a 120 gallon. IIRC the 92 a corner tank?

Wish I knew what I know now before ordering the tank. Well now that I have the tank getting another tank is not an option at the moment.

I just spoke to the manufactures' of the tank and they are going to confirm the bank panel is not tempered. The tank is not a corner tank, the dimensions are 47.5" x 19.5" x 21.5". I attached some more pictures. If I am able to drill the back panel what setup would be best, bean animal? What about if I am able to enlarge one of the 1/2" holes in the existing overflow to 1" Bulkhead and run a Herbie setup with the return either drilled in the back panel or over the top with the 3rd hole plugged in the overflow? Its frustrating that these companies sell tanks with less than adequate setups.
