93 Gallon Cube Build

Ok. I have three mp40s. I'm planning on using two for the display and one for my frag tank. I can keep them low. I'm using a reefledlights p47 kit with added 410, 660 strips.

I went with the mp10's because someone in my reef club sold them to me for $100 each. I figured if they weren't strong enough, I could use them on another tank. But so far, they seem to be doing a perfect job.

This is my first radion. I've always used maxspect razors in the past. I'm very happy with the color on the radion though. Everything looks way more vibrant than they were with my maxspects.

Your tank looks nice. I'm downgrading from a 180 with all filtration under the tank to a 93 with a sump room and frag system. So im reusing all the equipment from it.

Your rock work is functional and looks great.

With my first tank, I made the mistake of building a rock wall against the back glass. I had all kinds of issues, and no sandbed space. The rock work in this tank is completely open on all sides. I don't think I'll ever build a tank where the rock touches the glass again. If I could offer advice to new reefers, that would be the biggest point I could stress. And I was also borderline about putting the yellow tang in this tank, but the open rock work made me feel better about it.

My duncan coral is starting to go crazy in this tank. It only had 4 or 5 heads when I added it, but it now has over 20. I'm just going to let it grow as big as I can.

Here's some photos from this week's order. I also got some Purple Cat Eye palys, but didn't get a photo.

Picked up this anemone for $27. I'm really happy with it. It was hard to get a shot b/c of the place it has settled. But the color looks way better in person, especially when the lights are around 16-20k. I'm hoping it settles more around the front of the tank. I think it's too close to the leather coral. I'll be watching that closely.

Got the apex setup. Now I just gotta get the dosing pumps going. Quick update:

Purple Digitata is starting to put on new growth on the tips:

Red Planet is still hanging in there. It looks like the base is starting to encrust. I recently moved it to get it a little more light. It was turning all green.

I'm trying to get my BRS 1.1 ml dosing pumps setup for Apex. If I am wanting to dose 50ml of calcium and 20.9ml of alkalinity a day, does this look right?

Alkalinity:
Fallback OFF
OSC 030:00/004:45/685:15 Then ON
If pH > 8.35 Then OFF

Calcium:

Fallback OFF
OSC 000:00/011:22/708:38 Then ON
If pH > 8.35 Then OFF

That's what I used. But I wasn't sure if I did it right. It looks like it restarts every 12 hours, so I entered the daily dose in half. This is my first time using a dosing pump, so I didn't want to mess anything up.

1.1ml pumps 50ml a day dosed all day,at the top of the hour every hour:

Fallback OFF
OSC 000:00/001:53/058:07 Then ON

1.1ml pump 20.9ml ALK dosed all day, but with a half hour wait time to avoid dumping calcium and alkalinity in at the same time:

Fallback OFF
OSC 030:00/000:47/029:13 Then ON
If pH > 8.35 Then OFF

Completely different then you got?

Best method I've found is to set it up, and catch what it doses for the day and measure it. I do this every time I change my dosing schedule.

Thanks! I am using your schedule. I watched it dose this morning, and the timing is right. I just started my work week, so I'll have to test the dose this weekend. I'm thinking that my pumps may be too low, and I'm not getting the full dose. It's having to work to push it through the tubing. But that might've just been air in it from the first use, and it may be alright now. I'll know when I test the dose.
