Hey guys..please chime in on this list.. Im ready to go..but Ould appreciate your input!
This is my first saly / reeftank, and I wanted to purchase the right stuff the first time.

Trigger Systems Sapphire 34g Sump
VarioS-6 Controllable DC Pump (1720 GPH) - Reef Octopus
Apex Controller System - Neptune Systems
Regal 200SSS 8" Space Saving Protein Skimmer (VarioS) - Reef Octopus
XF250 Gyre Pump with Controller (5300 GPH) - Maxspect
Radion XR30w G4 Pro LED Light Fixture - EcoTech Marine
RMS XR30 Tank Mount Kit - Ecotech Marine
Osmolator Universal 3155 Auto Top Off - Tunze
BRS 6 Stage Universal Plus RO/DI System - 75GPD
PINPOINT Salinity Monitor

Cubes can be bought on in tank circulation, it would be better to have about 2 or 3 Tunze 6095, and I would get two AI Prime 26 HD then a single source led.

Unfortunately you missed the big Black Sale the tune were cheap they can now be purchased used for a great price now but you will have to wait for 50 post and 90 days.

Thanks for the reply.. I was hoping the newer flow pattern of the Gyre would be enough..maybe not

I actually just realized I can use the Apex PMUP pump and a few float switches to manage the ATO for me.. I guess I need a breakout box though?

I am not familiar with the Gyre but rather I get the basic understanding how it works. Cubes are great tanks but have severe limitations, one being the sump area, and two circulation within the tank and getting the deitrus out, so I believe high and random would work better. I switched to a 40 breeder due to my frustrations with a 24 x 20 modified cube. My dream tank is a 36 x 30 tank.

My ATO, sump, and 29g fuge are all located in an adjacent closet.. so fortunately the stand size is not an issue [emoji106]

A 8'' skimmer is a little big for a 93 gallon tank, do they have a 6'' model skimmer?

They say it's rated for 175g "heavy load" so I figured I'm at 163g with sump and fuge. And it's variable speed, so I assume I can slow it if i need to right?

Ok.. so decided to change to Emerald 39, and do to Vortech wMP40's instead of gryre. I really like the no wires look.. and lower maintenance of the vortechs

How do you get them to be wireless? The mp 40 still has a power wire going to it.

Outside the tank yes.. but no wires in tank right?

That is correct. No wires in the tank but there are wires outside the tank. Here's a tip on the mp40s, they are without a doubt my favorite power head but you need to make sure to use the cable mounts. I worked in LFS's throughout college and they never used cable mounts so when the mp40 got knocked off the tanks it just plummets to the ground and causes damage where they will start to become really loud. The cable mounts will prolong the life of the pump because sometimes they do mess up and fall off the tank. It's rare but it does happen.

Your setup looks good to me. I would personally opt for a vectra return pump and a different light. 1 radion will light the tank but you will have low par levels on the outside skirts of the tank. So unless you plan to put low light coral in those areas I may consider a different light setup that will give you ample spread.

Thanks for the tips! I plan to do a triangle'ish aquascape with two bridges leading up to a higher area in the center. So mostly sand around the edges of tank, and I think that will be ok with low PAR.. why do you suggest the vectra instead of reef octopus?

What are the dims of a 93g cube? 30x30x24? Also the new Apex comes with salinity probe so you don't need the pinpoint unit.

As for lighting a single XR30 Pro is a start but if you want to keep SPS you are going to need more for combat shadowing.

As for the sump the GEO 36 is a nicer unit than the Trigger as it comes with built-in reactor and a float tree holder for ATO. Since you will have an apex all you will need is a pump (PMUP), and 2 float switches to have the ATO.

Do you have a canopy to work with? I have a 93 cube and while I run a giesemann specta, I would consider running retrofit T5 with radion xr15s in the middle

No canopy.. just light on stand .. I was trying to go with the "clean" look

if you have the apex you don't need the tunze ato setup.
would skip the salinity meter as well and get a refractometer instead

Disagree. I love my apex salinity probe. It actually made me realize my milwaukee digital was off :-o

You really should get both a probe and a refractometer. And calibration solution for the refractometer. Don't use RODI.
