9410 Hydrofoamer Silence Pump

Hi Roger,

I have an ATI Bubble Master 200 protein skimmer, and the pump died while I was on vacation last week. I'm interested in replacing the pump with the 9410... will it work on this skimmer?

I bought the ATI used, and can't find the right information online. Also, if it is compatible, can I order direct from you? Marine Depot is out of stock with an ETA of about a week I think. Since mine's been down already for about a week, like to get the new one in ASAP.

Thanks Roger.

We shipped some to Marine Depot last week, they likely will have them today or tomorrow. It will only work if this is a non recirculating skimmer, i.e. the pump only sucks water from the sump, adds air and blows into the skimmer with a 3/4" threaded fitting. If it is the type where it takes the water from the skimmer and is only mixing in bubbles, it won't work, there is no provision to connect anything to the intake and it is not water tight. I am not sure what the water and air ratio the skimmer needs is, if it is the same as our pump specs or very close and the pump connection is the same, it should work.

Thanks Roger. If I read this correctly, it looks like it will work.

The old pump is a Sicce PSK-2500, here: http://www.marinedepot.com/Sicce_PS...or_Aquariums-Sicce_USA-XJ11151-FIWPSB-vi.html

It connects to an air intake tube. Apologies, I was a little thrown off by the wording in your second sentence - both the Sicce (old pump) and the 9410 appear to have air intake tubes and 3/4" output, so it should work?

Also, looks like Marine Depot already updated and have the 9410 in stock.

Thanks again.

Hi Roger, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 9410 Hydrofoamer Pump, and set it up two days ago. However, I can't get the water/bubbles to go up the skimmer shaft, even with the air cranked all the way up. I've tried adjusting the water level, but this hasn't helped much either. Is there another possible cause?

The Sicce PSK 2500 is actually a modded pond pump, depending on who makes the needlewheel and volute (most manufacturers make their own to match the skimmer) the output varies from about 600-1100 lph of air, the 9410.040 is right about in the middle and in most cases I would expect a small difference to affect it so greatly it is a make or break for performance. Do you know the specs of what you had originally? Are you using the airline and silencer that came with the pump to be sure it has the maximum air flow?
