For those of you that haven't heard. I had a tub crash last Friday night. Just about all of my SPS corals and fish died. I am not 100% sure what happened. All I do know is that I have to start over from scratch. It's a cold hard truth to swallow when all your corals bleach. I can now sympathize with those that have came home to a bleached coral tank with the smell of rancid flesh through out your homes.

I will continue on and rebuild as I can. It is just a major unfortunate mishap.

ahhh i just heard about your tank from hector too, im very sad to hear this happen i didnt even get to see the tank or any pictures of it

Mike, I hadn't heard. That is really upsetting. I hope there is something I can do to help you get it back to its former glory. With the growth you were getting from your SPS it shouldn't take too long.

if you have anything that is still doing OK and you would like to leave it here for a while feel free to let me know. I will be in Medina tomorrow. I get out of work at 4:30.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that Mike. I don't have anything real fancy, but I'd be more than happy to hook you up with some frags, and maybe even some fish to get you going again.

LMK if you're interested, and I'll get pics of potential candidates.

Wow Mike I am sorry to hear about that as well. I am glad to see you are going to re-build because you had one of the best setups in this hobby. I would be glad to frag my tank and help get you restarted or lend you a hand with something. After all you helped me. Let me know and let's get you restarted. Ben

Thanks guys,

I will probably get in touch with each of you to recover a frag of my corals. Now I can rebuild my tank the way I would like to have it.

Thanks again folks

What can I say besides that "sucks!" I will definitely give you some frags of the frags I got from you at the tank move. Sorry to hear about the corals.

That is really awful Mike. That tank was definitely an inspiration. I would offer some frags but unfortunately the same thing happened to me. Still don't know why but I lost every single piece.

On the bright side, I am sure the new and improved tank will be a vision of beauty.

Mike,
Thats really depressing. Glad to hear you are taking it well. Any idea what the cause was? I lost all my SPS when I moved last fall. I had nothing (coral wise) compared to what you have going.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with next. If I can help please let me know.

Hi Mike,
I have the Turaki frag growing nicely in my tank. Let me know when you are ready for it back as well as another frag of the freaky crayola table and anything else you might like from my tank. Mike do not give up. Dan.

Hey guys thanks for all the words of encouragement. By no means am I slowing down on getting my system put back together. I have been working just as hard as if I still had everything. Last night I was able to get my last coat of primer on the walls and the sump stand. Tonight, I will be touching up my floor surface and putting on a finish coat of paint. I hope to get my outlets and switches in early tomorrow morning. I rolled the 200 gal. sump into the fishroom last night... WOW its huge in there.

ya gonna do a tank build thread? what would you change? maybe a closed loop? any thought on going b/b

I have a tank build post going in the large tank forum. There is a post link here on the C-SEA forum too. Now that I have very little to go back in my 180. I am going to let it grow out for a while before I do the change over. I need to post more photos of the fish room progress. I am not a big fan of closed loops. The extra holes in tanks concerns me to much. The 180 is going back up bare bottom for now. I may put in another shallow sand bed in the future. For now I think BB is going to be the way to go though.
