You have a great project going there! I applaud you for taking the time to hear everyones opinion and shaping your plans after gaining the knowledge.
These small pumps (about 16" long x 8" dia.) are utilized for aquaculture and perform very well. The 1/2HP unit run 1200GPM @ roughly 600watts, with a throw of 50 feet. These wattage and flow #s top even the Tunzes for efficiency
If you put one on an actuated mount, you could sweep the tank back and forth with great results. They also make a 1HP model that throws 2200GPM. They can be supplied in your voltage as well. Their bigger models would probably be too much for the smallish 19,000g tank
