This is the thread that made me Register to the forum, just to ask one question.

I LOVE this soon to be gorgeous tank.
 
I like both MDF1666 and MDF255 but it looks like MDF1666 will be the easiest to work with.


I don't know about those rocks. Try throwing a chunk of one in vinegar. If it dissolves completely, its pure limestone and would be great assuming there are no ground contaminants. That sand looks like it might have a lot of silica. Silica = diatoms.

BTW, I found similar rock in the desert in New Mexico and was considering using it in my tanks. I decided not to because many of the pieces were simply compressed sand and would fall apart easily causing an unstable rock structure. The other reasons were because it was not as porous as I would like and I did not know if there would be any contaminants.
