A 5" tank

I'm kinda building a custom tank and was wondering what kind of mantis I could throw in? The tank will be 4 feet x 18 inches x 5 inches tall. It's a tide pool tank and wonder is a mantis can go it.

IMO a P. ciliata would be ideal there. They are found in tidepools and don't need alot of room and are very active and colorful.

How much substrate are you going to add?

I forgot aout substrate depth. P. ciliata generallylike to burrow under rocks and need about 2-3 inches to do so, but I'm sre it'd be fine with a nice PVC pipe.

Look for bright yellow mantises. I can nearly guarentee you any bright yellow/orange mantis is a P. ciliata. It is a fairly rare color morph but if you tell your LFS to order you a yellow or orange mantis you'd probably get a P. ciliata (they are highly color variabl. Mantises that are comfortable and in varied environments gain the yellow coloration. The theory is that they can afford to sexually eadvertise themselves)
