Hello all,
The clam is from one of Greg Schiemers home tanks, the clam had grown so large it was about to split the tank apart so it was moved to the tank here at Atlantis:

Hi Joe ! Great looking clam !

I want to thank you for your visit to the hotel in Amsterdam and noticing the nudi infestation on the monti. I am sorry we could not meet.I introduced a couple of wrasses since then and it seems not to get worse.

Sorry to miss you that day as well. You have a very nice tank there and glad to hear the wrasses are helping out. If I come back that way, I know what hotel I'd like to stay at... the one with a reef tank for sure!

great clam... I've seen pix of it in Greg's aquarium before and I wondered where it would end up when it got too large.
What wrasses did you suggest for the monti nudis, Joe?

Hey,
Took care of this on the same dive...
This blue tipped acro (blue tips not visible in the pic though) grew to the point where its own weight snapped its 2" thick base and toppled to the tank bottom, where about a 1/4 of it self fragged upon impact. The starter frag for this piece was a 2" long single branch.
It has since been replanted in another section of the tank. I'm now going about the tank making sure some of the other larger acros have more then one point of contact/ attachment. In the wild this would be a normal event and self propagation, but its a bit disheartening to see it occur in the tank.

Man Joe,

Those corals are unbelievable! I really have to go visit your tank! I have never been able to grasp how colossal they are by all of the pictures that I've seen!

The clam couldnt of gone to a better place. You really are in tune with your reef tank. Im glad you have a passion for it like a hobbyist. Keep up the good work. One day I will visit Atlantis when I am in town.

Do you have any pics of your 20,000g tank from far away. I want to get an idea of how enormous that thing is.

This is an older picture, the tank extends for four more feet on each side.
The tank is 30' l x 14' w x 6.5' deep.

If anyone does visit, be sure to track me down.
