+1, I guess it depends on the size and the source? Mine has been with me a long while and took care of the problem right away. I think I read somewhere to get a larger butterfly for control.
I am 0/2 over the years on CBB's - very frustrating because they are an amazing looking fish as well. Got a Klein's BF about 3 weeks ago, and has destroyed easily 250 aiptasia in my tank. I can see my rock again!! However, one of the first things he did was pick apart an $80 modern coral (ugh). He has left alone my Flower Pot, Torch and all my zoos and shrooms. He hasn't been too much of a bother (other than the Modern Coral debacle!).
if you go with the CBB.make sure that the one you get is already eatting aptasia. mine has been in my tank for almost a year. hasn't even touched them .
Really lovely tank. Nice job. I have had fantastic luck with my matted filefish laying waste to the aptasia I had. But my coral population is very not precious, lots of polyps and soft stuff. I don't really know how much nibbling the file is doing on other stuff (I've never seen any nibbling) but it's a great fish. However, your lion would likely eat it. How bad is the problem. Can you kalk them?
