Well, one guy in Taiwan use up to 16 heads ;-) which also Zeovit system.
I guess these auto dosing systems help me keep my SPS during my trip, especial most of my trips are around 3 weeks and no one at home.
I also use remote IP camera to remote monitoring my tank when earthquake happen.
Taiwan has lot of earthquakes which increase the difficulty of reef :thumbdown
BTW, I still couldn't find a good IP camera with optics focus lens, pad & tile, and good price, my is Dlink DCS 5230L. Anyone has a good suggestion?

I first will say your tank is amazing. I have a few questions that have me confused about your set up. You mentioned you take out the sand and clean it? How exactly do you perform that? Second I see that you dose and I really like that, but does this cut down on water changes as I would think that you would be taking out all the stuff you put in correct?

I note that you dose liquids from various blue bottles. My questions is that is it not necessary to shake the contents of each bottle first before dosing? I wonder whether the integrity of liquids is compromised? Having said that looking at the colouration of your corals, it probably does not matter.

I really hope I can find a way to avoid my sand cleaning process
The way I did so far is.... first stop all pumps, use nets to capture less than 10% of sand, clean it, and pull back tank. No major problem found so far, except PO4 may up to 0.04 ppm in next 24 hours. BTW, my sand bed is only 2 cm thick.
For water change, I always prepare new water with exactly same parameters as much as possible, such as salinity (1.026), KH, CA, MG before water change, and I only do 6% water change per week with KZ salt.

Thanks. I did "shake" some bottles. According to Zeovit, some liquids require shake before dosing. For that, you can see some bottles have two air tubes in it, one of course is for liquid dose in, the other one is for my air pump pumping air in from exactly 7:58 am/pm to 8:03 am/pm, a 5 minutes period to disturb the liquid, and these liquids will dosing into my tank during that 5 minutes time slot.
There are other liquids (e.g. KZ CV and KZ SNOW), require either shaking too hard (SNOW) or require keep in fridge (CV, especial in Taiwan), that I choose manually dose them, but I am working on some new plan and trying to make that automatic. If any suggestion, please don't hesitate to share.

--Drill. Create openings in sides of refrigerator for hose lines. Store your SNOW, CV and whatever else you want chilled inside.
SHAKING (HARD, at that
) -- Random Orbit Sander. Face the sander upwards. Tie the sander in place with a rack or something stable. Next, tie your dosing container to end of sander, which is now horizontal, like a dinner plate. (Note, you don't need any sandpaper). Hook it up to a pre-dosing timers. Done.
You can get a small RO Sander to fit in a mini-fridge! It's really late, but this has got to work. I know it

These are good suggestions, but I am not sure the living room space and the noise can avoid my wife's complain. The house space in Taiwan in average much smaller than in US :sad2:
Let's me think a bit deeper on it later.

That looks awesome! Do you feel that the KZ bulbs are worth the extra money over the ATI, or other companies bulbs? Have you ever ran any other brand of T5?

I actually just took friend suggestion and choose KZ. However, did hear my friend mention his experience that KZ has better spectrum and par number better as well.
I am happy with my light system so far, especial the 45 degree light keep my birdnest complete color include down side part, but it could also be the KZ SPG work!

Instead, do you have any comment on the following setup? This photo I shot at LA fish store (Vivia), a magnetic stick at the bottom of the container, and before dosing, it will spin a few minutes to mix the solution.

Yesterday I spent half day visit a few reefers in south Taiwan. Their tanks are amazing and SPS species are excellent. I notice most of them are bare bottom tanks, and SPS are still tiny, not exactly my type:strange:, but one thing very different than my tank is.... All coral are in excellent condition, their color are so bright and clean. I almost can't find one coral browning. I know their SPS die rate are higher than mine (I have 8 months lose only one SPS), but still a puzzle to me how they keep coral color so clean. For example, if from a distance, one of my birdnest looks ok as below,
but when zoom-in, I can clearly see dirty spot, maybe these are just Zooxanthella, but their birdnest is very clean even zoom-in view.
None of their tanks are Zeovit system, so I am sure they did not using Spur 2 or B- Balance to wash color (stop Zooxanthella grow). Really really wonder how they did that !?

It's a rush tour 5 reefers for 7 hours include dinner but I still got some idea. Their bare bottom tank always have NO3 undetectable, and for PO4, they try very hard to keep it around 0.03, otherwise will be zero. KH around 8~9, I don't remember exactly. Keeping some PO4, reduce organic, trace element, and lights seems keys of their success, but I don't have more detail than these.
