A cure for pinching!

Yeah I have been following that thread for quite some time, even ordered the antibiotics, just waiting on a little extra cash to purchase a 250 halide bulb to put over the Q/hosiptal tank...Hopefully this will take care of the problem. Personaly Ill boycot all products from Viet Nam...Actually if we cant get cuban cigars imported in this country , then why should we get protazoan infected clams!

It's really not just vietnam...any\all clams can be potentially infected. All it takes is one or two infected clams in a holding tank to spread the protozoan...

I agree..... I really, really.... really like Cuban Cohiba's. If I can't buy them here then I refuse to buy anything from a communist country. Don't care how good the product may be, fair is fair. Castro sucks, yes, but, they sure make a great cigar. On a better note.....
QT your new clam for a week or two. Watch very carful and be alert for the nasty little white shelled snail. Be ready with the tweezers and you may even want to feed DT's once a week.

hey I had thought. Has anyone ever had pinching on their clams AND had UV sterilizer and/or ozone? If it is indeed a protozoan parasite, I am sure the cases of clam pinching is significantly diminished in systems with even minimal anti-microbial countermeasures.

On the reeffrontiers thread there is a guy that uses a UV and still had the protazoan infect his tank, not sure if he uses O3 or not.

WOW!! this is a great thread...

a majority of the clams in our hobby come from VN. so staying away from them will be difficult.

With the research Berry(clamsdirct) is doing i think we will find a cure soon.

i'v been pretty luck and the one clam i had that had pm has cured it self and it's doing fine.
