A few equipment issues?

I might need some assistance from someone more knowlegable. I bought a complete setup with skimmer and calcium reactor. The skimmer is an aqua c urchin ran with a MJ1200..it simply does not skim..there are always bubbles in the trap but the drainage is nil..nothing ..no skimmate..any suggestions?

also I have a calcium reactor, dosing pump, and ph controller, bubble regulator with co2 ..I have had it going for over a month..it must not be working because my calcium was at 300 today..so obviously something isn't right..it all looks like its running well...so I added calcium additive today..which is ridiculous considering i have all this..so...

any help?

On the Aqua C, try cleaning out the injector. You can do this by removing the little white set screw below the collection cup. This should fix your probllem. As a note on the Aqua C Remoras and Urchins: IMO these are great skimmers for their price, but you have to keep them clean or they won't skim at all. I clean mine at least twice a week. This includes cleaning the injector and the collection cup and riser tube.

On the calcium reactor: What is your effluent pH, how many bubbles per minute of CO2 are you using, and have you recently changed out your media? You should be bubbling around 6-10 bubbles per minute of CO2 and the reactor pH should be in the mid to high 6 range.

I think calcium reactor should be a topic that we need to go over as I am asked a lot about them and don't know most of the answers.
