Did you you through a travel agent to get the vaca set up, or were you able to do it on your own? I'm very jealous! I don't know if I could imagine a better vaca. Awesome pics?

that trip has to be the envy of anyone interested in this hobby or scuba. did you dive while you were there?

I have been to Galapagos twice. I cannot recommend the trip more highly. The diving is absolutely amazing.

I went with my highschool.

And I did not get a chance to dive, although I did snorkel daily, and saw a HUGE manta ray. It was quite amazing, everybody was envious that I could name every fish we saw(well, 99% LOL)

I hear the diving's pretty treacherous there--really powerfull currents.

The water is very cold and the currents can be very fast. I would not recommend the diving to new divers. However, the currents really aren't a big issue. In the areas where the currents were really strong, we would simply float with the current and the boat would pick us up down current. Or, another thing we would do is go down about 50 or 60 feet and lodge our tanks in a crack or crevice in the lava rock and then sit and watch the parade of dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles, hammer head sharks, eagle rays, etc. There is SO much sea life, you don't have to move and you will still see all there is to see.

I have to look for the picture, but I had a whale shark come so close to me, I had to swim out of the way to miss getting hit by it's pectoral fin. It was MASSIVE!

I am working on my next big dive trip right now. It won't be until next year, but I am planning on going to Komodo. I hear that the diving is unbelievable.

Sounds like a great trip. Where is Komodo? Is that where the "dragon" is from? Somewhere in the Orient I would guess. I'm leaving Saturday for the N Bahamas--not quite as exotic.
