A few pics of Schnitzel's sticks

Your calcium consumption must be off the chart.

Yep. Luckily I don't notice it, calcium reactor takes care of it no problem.

Truly astounding! Those colonies are massive, and its nice to see an actual display tank these days.

I agree. And thank you!

Looks spectacular!

What t5 lamp combination are you using??

6 blue 1 coral 1 purple

One more question, what do you dose for nitrates?

Lately I've been feeding extra heavy.

Tank is still growing like crazy. I just checked alk for the first time since February, it was 6.1. Hahah. That's what happens when you get lazy.

Also added a new frag in May.....should be a a colony in no time. ;)

I'll post some pics of the tank in a minute. Acros are growing like weeds

Damn very nice, did you use a orange gel filter ? Or the yellow one ? Ive heard the orange is for when blues are on only and yellow for the daytime pics.

Stunning as always. Did you start this tank with mostly Live Rock? I've been successful in the past with sps, but am struggling this time around. The only difference is my current tank started with 95% terrestrial base rock and my successful sps tanks were pretty much opposite, 95% live rock. I should be getting triton ICP results back any day now.

This tank was started with 100% dry rock and sand. It's funny because I sort of felt I was missing something in the beginning, but I don't feel that way any longer. I didn't want any hitchhikers in my tank, and I'm still glad I went that route. I do have bubble algae, but that hitchhiked in from a stupid lps coral that's no longer in my tank. If/when I move to a new house, my next tank will only have SPS and MAYBE my gold torch if I can 100% guarantee there's no bubble algae. It drives my crazy, but luckily my coral grow fast and it's quickly finding fewer and fewer spots to grow.

Good to know that your tank was all dry rock and sand, that kind of debunks what I've been thinking. I was concerned about hitchhikers too, that is why I went mostly dry rock. My successful with all LR, I had to deal with isopod, bubble algae etc. I did however go from thick sheets of bubble algae in that tank to no bubble algae. I think you could get rid of all yours too if you add these inhabitants to your tank:
