I still have a long way to go to get as good of shots as a lot of you are getting, but my shots are starting to make me happy with the results so thanks again for all the good threads and input I have received :D

looks good. You may want to use a software with a cropping feature to better isolate the in focus areas. Especially the second and fourth image. The subjects are really nice and the image will have much more impact (IMO) if they were a little better isolated. Maybe something like this. This one also sharpened up nicely...hope you don't mind.

Great job with exposure and color balance.

What is the third picture?

Some sort of Macro Algae, not sure what kind.
Everyone that sees my tank comments about it.

Thanks!!!
It looks much better!!
I just got photoshop cs3 so I will be playing with that.

I am still a rookie so any help is very much appreciated.
A question, my Nikon when I shoot on Raw and for some reason I am having trouble with the photoshop program reading Nikon's raw files, am I doing something wrong?

Thanks Again!

It looks like a weeping willow. How cool is that?!

Load the software that came with the camera. If that doesn't work go to Nikon's website and download the file there.

Not sure about Nikon, I use Canon. Adobe Bridge (bundled with PS CS3?) reads all my RAW files. Then I double click and it opens the file in PS. Mostly I use the camera's (Canon) software (DPP - Digital Photo professional). I make my RAW changes there and there is an option to export to PS. I imagine Nikons software has similar features. There have been some statements that nothing decodes the RAW format of a file as good as the one made by the one who wrote the actual code. PArticularly in the shadows. So, I use the Canon software to edit the RAW file (I happen to like it too. Not sure the quality improvement is really that noticable truthfully, but as I said I like the software anyway).

Thanks for the input!
I just updated the program and it works fine now.

Yes, your pics are improving! I like that last one. IPT's suggestion about closer cropping would probably be beneficial here.

The last two shots seems to have an undesirable (for me) halo / glow effect going on, as though light were leaking in somewhere or reflecting off a bright object very near the foreground?

Always enjoy seeing pics of your reefs Chris! Would you mind posting some pics of some of your zoa colonies? I always love seeing them :D
