The tank is 5 months old.I had a bad hair algea problem,and started dosing sugar about 2 weeks ago and it is totally gone.

Its a dersea.It has grown about an 1/2 inch in 3 months.I am planning on getting a gigas soon.

its a means of adding a Carbon source for the bacteria. They also use vodka (distilled; NOT refined).

I started dosing 1 tea spoon a day for 3 days,then went to 1/2 a tea spoon for a week.I do a 20 gallon water change every 2 weeks.Since the algea is gone I still dose a 1/4 tea spoon every other day.I have seen no effects to corals or inverts.

Hey Marty, The above doseing is what I used.I just dumped it in my sump.Just keep an eye on your corals when doseing.Your skimate will turn almost black.I still do my bi weekly water change of 20 gallons.Iam still adding 1/4 teaspoon every other day.l

120 lbs
1oz a day calming effect
2oz a day mild funny
3oz a day keeping down the stress
4oz a day well your just getting on up there
5 oz a day well I'll let you know in an hour

My Randall has really been moving sand in my nano. Cleaned the sand out from under one area where coral was falling in the crater, and piling it up over other coral. I'll have to keep an eye on that little guy.
