Hi there,
After doing a bunch of research, I've decided to go with a Tunze DOC brand skimmer.
What's hanging me up, is which one to get so I'll tell you guys a little about my system and hope that you can recommend the appropriate model!
I Just set up a 100gallon tank, currently it has no sump, about 4 weeks ago. I migrated everything from my 10 gallon Nano over and have added another 20-30lbs of rock (bringing me up to 40-50lbs) and supplemented the clean up crew. I've got 1 lonely captive bred false perc swimming around (will be aquiring a mate for her soon) so my bioload at the moment is negligible but of course I'm going to change that over time!
My plan for this tank is a softie/lps reef so I'm trying to decide between the 9005 and the 9010 DOC skimmers. The price difference is negligible ($85 Canadian), my big concern is would the 9010 be too much for my planned set-up. I don't want all the potential food for the corals sucked out of the water!
Also, I've been having a surprisingly difficult time locating retailers in Western Canada, if anybody knows of one (particularly in Alberta) please let me know!
Cheers
