A few tank shots

Here are a couple recent tank shots. Nothing compaired to many tanks here but the tank basically runs itself right now. My only option with work and kids.

Those are awesome colonies! I hope to have big ones like that in the future. How long did it take to get that big.

looks great i like that it isnt to crowded and you have allowed the corals to grow into full colonies. what is the red coral or maybe polyps in the left middle?

Just a bunch of Red Mushrooms. Hitch hikers as a result of me cheaping out on live rock way back when. The smaller red coral in that area is a red chalice. It used to be really huge until a rockfall incident broke it and sent the biggest piece right into the Mushrooms and Pink Star Polyps. Generally the corals play nice but in that case the chalice died.

I really like this tank and the full shot looks awesome. The large colonies and open space give a more natural look I think. I just started my 180 with the same look in mind, when my tank grows up I hope it looks half this good.

Your family is lucky to get a chance to see a gorgeous reef on a daily basis. Kudos to you. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. That is a very nice thing to say. My tank is very very basic. I think stability and not playing with a bunch of stuff all the time has certainly helped.

Beautiful pics. What size is the tank and what type returns do you have? Are those dual wavy seas or sea swirls?

Absolutely awesome tank bro! Any way you can share some more info like equipment, lights, dosing etc... Thanks

plastic livestock tub for the sump
(3) 400W 20K Radiums
(2) 72" Actinic VHO
GEO 28" internal needlewheel skimmer

No dosing/suppliments since I took my CA reactor off line about a year and a half ago. Just too much of a pain to keep consistent and I never saw that much of an improvement.

I also have a controller for the lights and heaters now. At one point a couple years ago the tank got up over 90 degrees which freaked me out.

Tank is 70" x 28" (deep) x 30" (high) so 265 gal or so?

Just a basic split PVC return off of a single external Iwaki return pump. I do have a bit of a wave thing going on from(3) Tunze streams but nothing else.
