i used to have pirahas and i would feed them beef heart and i have a ton left can i use this is a salt water tank or not? if i had to gues i would say no but let me know thanks

actually beef heart is a good source of protien. i feed to my fish once a week, in Joyce Wilkerson's book Clownfish she reccomends it.

I would prefer rods food to anything. But I also agree, I don't think beef heart will hurt. Let us know how it is going?

I use beef heart when conditioning clowns for a spawn. It can be messy to use in a reef as there is obviously a lot of blood in it. I personally just buy a whole heart at Fareway, cut it into quarters, freeze it, then take a frozen quarter and run it over a cheese grater over the tank to feed. Clowns love it.
