A.Hoeki placement?

I picked up a very nice A. Hoeki today. I have two different tanks. One tank has 400 watt SE 10K Reeflux bulbs and the other tank has 150 watt DE 50k Iwasaki bulbs with a 150 watt 14k Hamilton in the middle. What lighting would the A. hoeki do better under? Is this a high light acro? Right now it is purple with bright green ends. What lighting setup will give me the best chance to hold the color? Any advice from other people that have this coral would be much appreciated.

well I have one and mine is under a set up 14k 250 pheonix bulbs. Its about 9" from the bottom of the tank. As long as your tank is stable it should be fine with the 150DE but would be even beter in the 400w tank.

I have two, one high in the tank 6'' under 250de 14k's the other one is low 18" below the water. The one up high grows faster but the color is not as deep blue as the lower one. They both have meduim flow. The upper one has grown around 1/2'' in the last 4months the lower one has grown around 1/3'' in the same time.

This is the experience I was wondering about. I am not too worried about the growth rate. I just want to get the best color out of the coral. I know that water parameters have alot to do with color but so does lighting. This coral is very purple right now with blue polyps and neon green coralite ends. I want to place this coral under lighting that will give it deep dark colors. It is sounding like the 150DE will do just that.
