A little advise.

No guarantee he will even be in the hobby by that time and it could take longer for a large fish to grow in a smaller tank. Plus if you try to feed the amount needed it will be harder to keep your water quality up.

I will try that, see if I like it, thanks!

Also, I attached a picture of the overflow. At the bottom, there are three drains, but two holes in the actual tank. So its basically just an external overflow, so I think this will work? Not 100% sure, check for me will ya? View attachment 322549
If its three drains you can setup the basic concepts of a beananimal overflow but understand its not up to spec of the BA and besides not being as efficient is that if you try and push the turn over to high it will not meat one of the benefits of the BA which is that it will be noisier.

Makes sense... So would you recommend I go with herbie or just do an altered BA?

Good advice on the naso, probably not the best idea, however, beautiful fish....

I would LOVE a male blond naso with long streamers but I wont even put one in my 180. It's my favorite fish but it would dwarf my tank but that's my personal preferences and RC's tang/tank sticky doesn't recommend it either.

I would do the altered BA as long as you have it setup right at least you'll have better redundancy. But also since you have the opportunity now I would do a C2C with the BA drain setup.

I would do a c2c and it is cheaper I just hate the look of the clear glass and seeing through overflow... I can't paint it because it would flake right?
