A little advise.

Are you asking a question? This is a pretty long thread may be best to start your own thread if you need some help.

I think its just spam. Theres been like 6 of the same thing. The pictures are for some car insurance company, and its the same thing as one of my first posts.

He's asleep. Mine all do the same thing when they're in their holes at night.. colour returns to the vibrant blues and yellows in the morning.

Interesting thing about a royal gramma ( Bit off topic i know), they're a great fish for measuring your water conditions.. Super vivid colour when happy, but dull and washed out looking when the water quality is toilet.

Good! That makes me feel better, I freaked out and thought he had something!

Happy fourth everyone! Hope you had a fun (and safe) day!!
My family and I went to the mountains and had a lot of fun with our dog :)
Left "lil buddy" at home for two days but he looks okay, we shall see!

Just got the news today... One of my grandparents died.. We are attending the funeral in india and will be gone for about three weeks... I think my only option is to return the little guy...
Thanks for everyones help, I cannot express my gratitude enough, Dave(Dkuhlmann), and Tony (Gonefishin) Thank you guys the most!

I'm sorry to hear of your Grandparent's passing. Even though your returning the little guy, the experience you gained will make the next time much easier.

Sorry to hear of the loss. Taking the fish back is one option. Have you thought of an auto feeder like the eheim? Sorry I'm not sure if the QT has stabilized yet to sustain something like that. Just offering another option if viable.

No auto feeder, sadly, and I don't think my tank sitter would want to do lots of water changes.. Returning him is just easier and if I really want, my lfs said they can keep him separate and "on hold" for the duration of the trip if I want to buy him back, which is really nice. Once I get home im going to ask you guys to check out an ebay link and see if it will work if thats cool with you guys :)

Thanks for the kind words, my dad isn't doing great...

Good luck. And if you do get the fish back from the lfs I would still QT it as if its day 1 all over again.

Yup! Although I might not buy him back, he doesn't really fit my stocking plan and I definitely wouldn't add him first.

What do you guys think of thishttp://www.ebay.com/itm/1200-gph-LOW-PROFILE-Overflow-Box-Bulkhead-Mounted-aquarium-surface-skimmer-/161648760521?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a30456c9

It looks like a really good way for an overflow box without a c2c,

I have to drain my main tank, since my parents don't like the idea of 90 gallons of water suspended.. Even with me begging.
So I will drill my tank and get rid of that ugly hob overflow.
Will that work for a BA drain?

And here's a post in my tank thread with a video showing my setup when I first got my 55g upgraded to a 180 I have now. About half way through the video shows the overflow in the tank and back. I have no idea what happen to all my picture links. I think that they were tiny pic links and this forum doesn't like those anymore.

Haha yes I have read the BA thread and your rebuild as well, great job!

That overflow box on ebay does have 3 drains. I think I can do a BA drain on it, but not 100% sure. If it doesn't work, herbie will be just fine.
Btw jason, i saw in the video that you don't have a hole drilled for your return? Would you recommend I do that? Is it stable? I would be pretty ****ed off if that fell off the corner of my tank.

Strap it to the stand. Some have made other rigs to secure it to the brace of the tank. I've never had any issue. Having it strapped to the stand I don't see how it could fall. But you could drill. Or I've seen pvc pipe wrap around the back or all the way around with multiple out. I only ever wanted the one with all flow pointed to the one big structure.

Edit: Also, I only see two drains on the item you linked and it mentions Herbie style.

I will try that, see if I like it, thanks!

Also, I attached a picture of the overflow. At the bottom, there are three drains, but two holes in the actual tank. So its basically just an external overflow, so I think this will work? Not 100% sure, check for me will ya? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1436279933.597030.jpg

Also, one of my good friends asked me for a favor.

He is currently cycling his 8' 300 gal and asked me to grow out a blonde naso tang for him... He wants only show fish in his tank.. At first I refused, but he really wanted a big blonde naso without paying 400$

Should I do it? He said he would pay me 100$, but I would be happy to do it for him if you guys think its okay.. Since it is not a future upgrade, he has it right now..
He wants the tang at 5-6" when I give it to him, and if I get a small blonde naso(1-2"), it should take about 3 years to grow him out right? I can still say no, have not accepted, but Blonde Naso's are really cool.

What do you guys think?
