A little worried about my BTA

So my tank is a little over a year old and everything has been very stable for quite a while now so about a month ago I decided to go for a BTA. My clown fish have even been hosting it(although the female kicks the male out when the lights go off). The only concern I have is that when the lights come on it really deflates quite a bit to where it is barely anything, the clowns try to get in but it shrivels down where they cant even get into it. When the lights are off it looks good and happy though which makes no sense to me.

I would think it would be acclimated to my lights with over a month in my tank now but any assistance as to why it shrivels up so much when the lights come on would be great, thanks!

What type of lighting do you have on your 45? I just got a bta last week and it seems to have settled in the same spot I put her in. It came in bleached (I'm told) and it never shriveled up always open since day one. Well, I decided to turn up the leds I have on it (Radion Pros) just to see if the nem would respond by opening up even more or if it was too much light it would shrivel up and retract. Turns out the more light made it shrink and shrivel up to the point the clown could not host it.

Keep in mind that my nem is very small, just about 2.5 inches so it turns into like a quarter sized nem.

If you have dimmable leds, I would lower the brightness and if you have MH or T-5 I would raise it up a bit to see how it responds to the light.

I do not have experience with BTAs but have had a green carpet for over a year in my other tank. He is over a ft long and doing great.

I would wait for others to chime in as well. Good luck and try to post some pics of it being open in the dark and how it looks in the light.
