A new mystery frag

[Aquatic Hamster]

Ok, I've looked at web pages until I'm blue in the face (bluer than this frag anyway). Any idea what this is? Its growth pattern looks similar to a chalice that I have. Could it be from the Echinophyllia Genus? Or perhaps Mycedium elephantotus? There has been noticable growth in under a month.

My head hurts now, I'm going to bed.

Looks like a Elephant Nose coral ( Mycedium elephantotus )

Wow Chad, that is nice! I might have to get a frag of that back from you. Those zoas you gave me are a really nice pink and they are all opened up already. Thanks for those.

yeah, agreed, Mycedium of some species....the diagnostic is that the coralites face outwards as opposed to oxypora, echinophyllia et al where the coralites face upward.
