A NEW nice looking HOT skimmer

Seems like C&C has come out with a HOT skimmer that is going to kill the MCE600. Its a very nice finish, 650lph air, 25watts, and check out the best part at the bottom. A water drain for the body. How many HOT's are out there without this little feature, and how easy does this make it to pull off to clean. Here's some pics and specs. I'd rate it up to a 125g tank. The output was made so there isn't even a sponge needed for micro's. It looks to be an all around very nice unit. I've been told its going to run 400bux and reefspecialty is going to carry it.

Description:

Dimentions: 13"W x 4"D x 20"H (without cup)
Sicce pump with PinWheel
650LpH / 25 watts
Integrated Surface Skimmer
Body Drain
Wedge Pipe
Overflow protection

I figured you'd like that gsm : ) Yep, one watt per scfh. Pretty good for a hot, and will definately kill the mce600 users. My first initial thoughts are very impressive. I hope to have one soon to battle the rogue. And they are now pretty evenly priced after you purchase a pump with the rogue. I hate to say it but this may be one battle the rogue won't win : (

BAAAAAAA!

im sure the my MCE 600 works just as well, IMO their is no reason to add more air as their was already more air than the body can handle.

AND i wonder if the sicce restarts as reliably as the Deltec aquabee. Does the sicce do that well drawing water from the tank?.....

Send it to me and i will let you know ;)

What pump are they using on this HOB? NW or Mesh or other?

I just read the specs. Sorry for the dumb post.

I am not a fan of Deltec usually because of their build quality and high cost but I must say that MCE 600 looks like a more solid built HOB skimmer than the C&C version. They could do a way better job on the drain. IMO

Impressive and great stats, but the largest improvement needed on the MCE is the Collection Cup... not more air.

That said the integrated surface skimmer and body drain are very nice features.

This is the proto, not the actual skimmer that is going to be sold. THe one being sold will be a finished look.

And E&F, i agree, never been a big fan of the collection cup and that was my first question, why. I'll just have to see how it works and then judge it.

Looks good. The surface skimmer box is a nice addition. I agree on the collection cup. That is the worst part of the MCE600 and C&C should have done something else.
