I'am looking for opinions on ozone. I have an ozone generator I bought for my pond which I never used. It was made for humid areas and is supposed to work with a ventury valve, meaning the air needs to be pulled through it. I wasnted to get involved with ozone but I dont know If I should by a unit with a controller on it or just buy a controller. Any advice an controller settings and orp levels would be very helpful.

I'd get a controller and hook it up to your current generator. I set my OROP for 350.

That's right, no need to get another ozone generator. Hook it up to a controller and your ready to go. Don't forget to use an an air drier on the venturi side.

how about this skimmer

how about this skimmer

This prosone pz4 ozone generator is designed not to be used with a dryer. There is no one specific place it draws air from. Like I said it's made for ponds and pools. I decided to buy a RedSea generator with the controller on it and I would like to use it with one of those Coralife super skimmer 220 gal that I have sitting brand new in the box. Does anyone know if I can use ozone with it.? I'm not concerned about the skimming aspect as I am with the ozone contact.

you can run ozone to any skimmer, eventually it will make the plastic brittle- but your talking many years maybe decades depending upon type of plastic the skimmer is made of.

I figured, I called the company that produces that skimmer and they said it will degrade. It took a while for the tech to figure it out. I guess they are produced overseas.
