im new at marine tanks my 24 gallon reef tank just cycled and i want to either get a pair of either A. ocellaris's or A. percula's

any opinions on what the better choice is.

I feel that's all up to you, no difference in care, it's whatever one you like the best. Occ., perc, onyx, ect. Just look in some books for pics and then go hunting. If they are tank raised you can actually add them right after/during a cycle to help it along. ;)
Hope this helps.

thanks ive been lookin at the black Occ. lately. since its a new tank would a pair be to much for the first fish going into the tank

I don't think so, just recommend tank raised not wild caught, I suggest instead of blue damsels or yellow tail damsels because they can get mean and are hard to get out once there in with all the rock, etc.

You should not add a clown during the cycle for sure. Clowns are delicate fish and would not tolerate a cycle tank like some hardy brackish water fish.
Do not add a clown during cycle. Better yet do not add any fish to your tank to cycle the tank. Don't buy or add any fish unless you want to keep it IMO.

tank raise deither will be fine dont sweatit just get the nicest looking pair of either you can find.

well my LFS just got a shipment about a day ago with both black/white ocellaris's and the normal orange/white. i like both and i have seen both of the different colors eat. could a black and orange one live together.
