Hi
how do i pair up 2 Pseudochromis porphyreus to form a couple.
I am asking because I have a relatively large Pseudochromis porphyreus and I wanted to know if I introduce a smaller one could they eventually form a couple.
and if not is it ok to have two Pseudochromis porphyreus in a 265g reef without to much fighting.

thks

Most of the time the only way to have a reasonable chance of getting a pair of pseudos is to introduce a large number of young fish together all at once, and to see who pairs off naturally. Even knowing that you have 1M and 1F wont guarantee a pair.

OK tks
but I read somewere that the red sea fridmani pseudochromis male can be distinguished from the female so if you put 1 male and lets say 3 females will it work out or not?

if you can ID them for sure, then you have a better chance, but still nothing promised to work out.
Do keep in mind that when sexing fridmani's, you almost always have to look at a group of wild caught adults to have a good sexing success rate; captive raised ones and juveniles dont really display the characteristics as clearly
