A pic of my 75 g today 1 year details.

Tony, do you think the closed loop system (Velocity T4 w/ (2) 3/4 SS) is going to work for me? If I am thinking now to use in the return a Mag 7 wish is a lot les flow than the Iwaki 55.
My overflow is a 600gph, and in addition to that my sump-refugium will be a 29 gallons, (working with +- 20g)and because of that the return flow can not be to much, and I will have lest total flow than you.(I am limited in the stand space)
Do you think I have to increase the flow in the closed loop? Or you think that only the loop has a good flow for the tank?
I am thinking to put a SS at the end of the return pump, at center and top of the front glass. (Is ok? or may be not necessary)
Thank You.

I have my Iwaki teed off to my skimmer, I do not have all that flow going to my return, my tank would overflow. Plus my sump is another room so my return pump has more head to overcome.
You will have plenty of flow with the T4 closed loop and your return pump.
You do not need third ss. Just the two on the closed loop. Just the return line for you return pump.

Hi Tony, I have some more questions.
What salt you use, or you recommend me to use?
Can you recommend me a Test kit that I will really need to cycling and kip the water under parameters?
Now I am making my stand and canopy because the stand has to be costume to fit in the space I have for the aquarium.
Thank you.

Hey Tony, what's up.

Your tank is still looking fantastic and the RBTA is looking just awesome, everything is looking awesome.

Thanks RJ, and how have you been doing .
I need to get an updated pic of the tank, the rbta is even bigger now.
I am getting a new computer so I will be able to process my new cameras pics better.

Wow, those are awesome pictures on this thread! I love your tank! I think I have been on this thread for the last 30-45 minutes just looking at your pictures! Can't wait to see if you post pictures of the completed pond also.:D

Just a couple pics of my pond for fun. It still needs stone veneer around and on top of walls and needs the one side built up a little for low waterfalls, and of course lots of landscape. Thats all next spring .

Wow! That is amazing! Thanks for sharing! And I won't even make a remark of so much money spent on fish that you had to go with a smaller house. But only because you mentioned the filter room! :D You have some really big Koi, did you have another pond before?

Man....
Not sure if I am ready to step up to the plate for a reef tank yet.

Allen

I spent $600 for a 150g tank/stand with canister filter (dumped that) and external iwaki pump (i don't use it anymore) and PC lights with actinic and moon light. I bought a refigum/sump kit with pumps and skimmer for $200. 200# of live rock for $3 a pound (incl shipping - but he was actually local, but I still had to pay), $.50 per pound on live sand (200#). Test kit $30, salt $50 for 200g worth, $100 worth of PVC and plumbing. I got most everything online at ebay or various stores. Some deals to be had and sometimes, you must pay the piper.

Fresh water is the most economical. I have Cichlids too. I don't enjoy them as much with the SW tank now, but they are cool.

The filter room hs 3 200 gallon containers. The first one on the left with the hose hanging in it has a 55 gallon drum inside it. This drum will be holding 3 cubic feet of static K1 media to be used as a fines filter. The one in front of that with the board on it has a micro strainer inside it , keeping the water clean that is going from that chamber to the one on the right . the one on the right is the main bio chamber . It is filled with 8 cubic feet of moving K1 with and 80L air pump. then 55 g blue barrel is there just to disperse air so air does not get sucked into the pump.
There will also be a large bead filter installed for additional water polishing.

I visited ThatFishPlace today for the first time. I go to Manheim PA every friday and they are just 8 miles from there. They are huge, I didnt have enough time to spend there , but I bought 2 cleaner shrimp and a star for my nano.
the 75g while construction goes on for the 180.

I live in Maryland, about two hours from ThatFishPlace. I have been there like 3 or 4 times. That huge reef display tank they have at the front of the store is sooooo sweeeeet. I really love that store.

The rdsb is still in use adn I believe it is doing well. I have not taken any nitrate readings for a few months but the last time I did the readin was less then 1. I have actually even removed my light for the fuge where i had macro algae trying to grow and removed the macro.

I took nitrate and phosphate readins today, first time I took them in a long time , each reads zero, so the rdsb is working great.
Last week I also change my mh light from 10k xm to Ushio 14k . I still have the VHO super actnic to supplement them. I like the Ushio better then teh xm, it seams brighter and I like the color more too. Hopefully tomorow I can get some pics.
