A. polymnus. Too rough ?

I recently read a thread on another site where the owner of a hadoni which he had had for a long time introduced a pair of A. polymnus. within a couple of weeks the hadoni was dead and the owner put this down to the clowns which were very rough. I too, have just lost a hadoni which was doing well until the introduction of a pair of polymnus. I originally put this down to bad husbandry even though I religously check my water parameters and could find nothing amiss.Has anyone else experienced this or is it coincidence ?

I have a pair of A. Polymnus with my blue Haddoni. They are known to be rough and very aggressive fish. My female when spooked will often dart right into the mouth of my carpet and completely hide herself. Even though they are rough, I have not seem any adverse effects to my Haddoni.

fwiw:

My pair and group of polymnus destroyed each large and well established anemone they were presented until they were provided with a colony of BTAs to abuse.

The anemones were all multi year specimens 12-15" in diameter and they anemones returned to "normal" within a few weeks after removal of the clowns; if they survived.

Thanks for the replies. I feel slightly better about the loss although I'm not sure whether to try again with a much larger carpet or just return the clowns ?
