Goniopora have a pretty dismal survival rate. some of the collection practices seem to promote disease and in the wild they are found in much more turbid water then your typical reef tank. if you have a sand or gravel substrate i would stir it up stream from the coral every day and also sprinkle zooplankton (cyclopesezee or rotifers) on it everyday. the red Goniopora's seem to do much better in captivity then the typical green ones.

I have a red one the size of a baseball. They are nearly all in the skeleton now. Should I put it down on the subtrate?

yup, TFP always had a dead and dying coral tank. anything in there 5 bucks. but they seem to be better at keeping them alive these days. its been pretty sparse. I guess thats a good thingtoo. their coral tanks are looking good.

Tat2, i will have a sign up sheet for you to fill out. but i think we need to get more membership cards printed . will check.
No chotski bag that i know of, but we look forward to meeting you there monday.

Adictedtoswf what foods do you feed your tank?

I got: Frozen Cyclops, Mysis Shrimp, Brine Shrimp, and Marine Cuisine. I feed them two cubes a day. Just drop them in and the fishes chase after them.

Cyclops might help, but that is the only thing the gonipora will probably consume. Just as an FYI tat2tillidie feeds oyster eggs and lots of phyto as well as a mixture of other stuff. He also feeds enough that there is excess in the tank to feed the many pods in his tank.

Items such as non-photosynthetic corals like some gorgonians and sun coral are often listed as, "Not suitable for most reef tanks". The majority of us can't keep them, but anything is possible if the conditions are right.

I try to feed my tanks a lot and clean my tanks a lot and I think that helps... at the same time it's also a lot more work.
