A quick question about the greenwater technique...

I was wondering about the greenwater technique for raising clowns. I have goldstripe maroon clowns, and this will be the second clutch of eggs since I got them and my first atttempt at raising them. I already have phyto culture and a rotifer culture. I was thinking about doing the greenwater thing because I have read that maroon larvae are "lazy" feeders. So, when you add the phyto, do you add strictly the phyto cells by seiving or is it ok to add the culture water also. i just didn't know if the fertilizers used for culturing the phyto would have a negative impact on the clown larvae. Any tips?

Usually just add the culture water. Those fertilizers keep the phyto nutritious and in turn keeps the rots nutritious ;)

The phyto does many things....#1 keeps rotifers gut loaded in the tank.#2 nutrient uptake.#3 co2 into oxygen.#4 defuses light[spinners will calm down and headstanders will swim].#5 I am sure the fish eat it .I am pro green water altho fish can be raised without it[by people far smarter than me]try not to use the phyto you just fertilized. The nutrients may cause an unwanted spike in ammonia and nitrate.Wait a few days.
