This morning I woke up and did my usual routine of inspecting my 120 gal tank. My newly purchased Green Pizza Anemone was happy in the reef rubble minding its own business. I went to work as always. Upon returning home from work this evening, some soft protein and mucus pieces were strewn around the area where the anemone used to reside, and :uhoh2: a missing anemone. I have searched in vain; however no anemone. Water chemistry remains unchanged from yesterday. The question is WHO DUNNIT?
Suspects:
1 Ms. Lemon Peel Angel(a)
2 Mr. Eel(i) Snowflake
3. Mr. (W)hu Mu Trigger
4. Mr. & Mrs. Geni Canthus (The Swallow Tail Angel Pair)
Seriously, has anyone had experience with any of these fish eating an anemone? I have a Haddon's from which the Trigger tried to take some food and ended up getting badly stung. I know triggers will go after some inverts and corals. My eel is suspected of eating a much smaller fish a while back, but I wouldn't expect him to go after an anemone.
Any Thoughts
