lol... I wish. Though there has been a constant stream of Hong Kong reefers stopping by over the past few days. All hours of the day too :hmm3:

Andrew, did I hear correctly that you are moving to the states? Your tank was one of my inspiration tanks and your dedication to documenting what you did along the way was a big help to me as I started my reef. I certainly hope you will remain in the hobby and keep on wowing us with beautiful corals!

Corals off to their new homes

It has been a busy few days with people visiting all hours of the day to buy corals. Most of the centre pieces are the most popular and many frags have gone out the door plus a few of the larger pieces.

Fragging

The green milli sold very quickly and at a good price. So everyone is happy!!

More frags on their way plus some basic items I no longer require

Some fellow reefers sent me their newly acquired pieces in their tanks. It is very satisfying seeing my corals settling in to others aquariums. I hope they get as much satisfaction as I did. A few photos of what the customers sent me so far

And from reports the polyps opened up straight away.

Icing on the Cake

It was very humbling being asked to share my story and experiences in this quarterly issue of Reef Hobbyist Magazine and also having my corals featured on the front cover. Be sure to check it out by clicking on the link.

It is also a privilege sharing the current issue with Yano and his amazing aquarium. Check out his link here The Iwagumi Reef Simplicity at it's best!!

The front cover :)

I'll provide more updates and progression photos soon.

So sad to see this tank being dismantled. I sincerely hope it's only temporary, as there's still so much to learn from you. Greetings from LYBE.

Andrew, best of luck & I (as well as many others) anxiously await your return to the hobby). Not only have you built & maintained a beautiful system (AND moved it at least once), but you took the time to document your progression in such a professional manner! You have inspired myself and I'm sure many others over the years.

Best of luck my friend!

Thank you very much. It has been a fun ride with a few bumps along the way. The most challenging was moving the tank back in June/July 2011. An experience I will never forget.

Sad new Andrew.
Your tank was one the best tank I followed.
Hope to see a new tank soon!
Thank you
Maybe in a couple of years

Hi Jacek... I simply stir the sand every water change. I also changed to using small grain sand.

I have followed your build since day one. Trully inspirational. I hope you don't mind me copying your next build step by step lol.
Hope to see you back soon.
Thanks for everything.

Thank you Tony. Haha sure. The next build will be different

He stir the sand every week in combination with water changes :)
Thank you... that is correct

The time has come...

I would like to thank everybody (past and present) for following along over the last 5 years. I have really enjoyed sharing my journey with all of you and have met some great people from all around the world. Some great friendships have been made.

Out of interest, the living area is eerily quiet now with no pumps or chiller running. Something which will take time to get used to again.

I would like to also to thank my lovely wife who has been part of 'A Reef in the Sky' from the planning stages to it's final days. All the corals have gone to a total of (as far as I know) 23 different tanks around Hong Kong/ Macau and China and our beloved fish have gone to a tank(s) that is also featured in this SPS forum. So keep an eye out for them :)

Some final pictures

The sheer size of some of the colonies was startling

I ran out of containers/buckets towards the end

Some corals in the lift coming back down to earth

A short trolley ride was their last request :lmao:

Off to their new destinations

Sorry no soft drink can, only a
The shear size of this coral was incredible

A quick photo with one of my favourite corals. It's nearly larger than me

I will be happy to answer any questions you might have but this is the final official update.

In true aviation style... it is not goodbye, but see you soon!!

Ok, I ask the first one....

Is that you in the last photo?

Hope to see you and your next tank soon. Cheers!!!

What a sad great ending of a great story. .thank you Andrew for the inspiration that you have givin us all..see you in the next flight buddy.
