A Reef Tank in the Desert - +/- 1,400 gallon system

This is absolutely amazing.

I'm looking to start a breeding project using a triple stacker stand like you have on your 2 75g and 90g tanks. Do you know where i can find these or who the maker of the stand is?

Please let me know, i'm dying to find a stand like that so i can setup my tanks.

Cheers!

Great looking tank. Can't wait to see the next video.
Do you have any need for heaters? If so what are you using? I didn't see that mentioned anywhere

Thank you prostaff. I don't use any heaters. I usually keep my reef between 75-77 degrees. My mini split keeps my fish room and tank cool and I always have a window in the fish room cracked open a few inches. In the winter time, if it get's too cool, I shut off the mini split and fan for several hours.

Hi Sinnick. The stand I had made by a local welder. You just need to find a metal shop and let them know the dimensions of what you are wanting together with the anticipated weight of your tanks. They will paint it black for you and you can choose to have it powder coated.

My heart aches...

My heart aches...

As I sat in front of my tank this evening, I could not help but feel a great deal of sorrow and empathy for what Peter, a Coral Tank from Canada (1,350 gal Display Tank) must be going through right now.

The enjoyment that I receive from watching my tank; the personalities of my fish, the growth of my corals - it is not easily replaceable. I am constantly learning new things about the ecosystem I have created or have tried to replicate. I try not to take things for granted. I am constantly checking water parameters, experimenting with different supplements, pumps, water flow, methods - to improve the quality of my system and livestock.

I spend a tremendous amount of time reading other build threads and learning from fellow reefers - watching their successes and failures. One such thread, that has been an inspiration, is Peters. I have followed his and Mr. Wilson's successes closely. It has been very difficult to see their system decimated by a manufacturer defect. It is my hope, that he rebuilds and continues to inspire reefers like myself.

Have you noticed any spawning activity with the Tangs?

Looks amazing and so realistic.

Jacob, that's a great question. I have with my Blue Hippo Tangs. Most of the time they ignore each other, but, every few months the male and female are side by side together with the male following every move the female makes. I have also questioned whether or not my Powder Blues were getting busy.
