A Splash of Color - My SPS Peninsula Reef

Nice!!!! That's ALMOST everything I was hoping for!! :)
I plan on increasing my BFC as soon as I find the right fish..
I'd love to add a bunch of sunburst anthias..

'Almost' - what else would you like to see buddy as i'm in a pic happy snappy mood today. :)

Get the anthias Matt, they're great fish and very active in the water column

I was hoping it would be more of a mess, that's all..
This time of year, the stores are empty, here. Maybe in the fall, I'll find some nice fish..
Is a bloody mess, but I've seen worse.

Thanks mate, the dusk lights are on but i used the flash and got you a better shot of the acro corallites.

Looks like A.abrotonoides to me

Hey wait a second Amigo, where does the genus of the fish play in? I would think a large biggles count of pewny fish might be off set by let's say a more robust grouping no?

Ageed, mine @ 1.21428571 :uhoh3: I'll let you figure out how many gallons

Don't be posting all those decimal points trying to make your number look better - it's 1.21 and way under mine.

It's awesome is what you're trying to say i think Matt - thanks mate

Thanks mate, if it's not that one it has to be a species very similar in growth i think.

I'm feelin' ya 007..
I think we may have to go back to the good ol' inches of fish divided by gallons.

And here we go........typical whiny Canadian dummy spitting. The BFC is the BFC and is set in bloody stone - you can't just start making things up and pulling crap out of nowhere when you lose, this is science and obviously way over your heads.
Sahin has a laughably embarrassing BFC of 0.42 and you don't see him trying to cheat even though i expected him to being from the UK.

I have high hopes for this little guy whatever he is now that he's getting the light he needs.

Hey now, don't go ranting about us Canadians just because you keep a heard of micro fish, be a man and get some real fatties :blown: Nice acro pic BTW, what you lack in fish you make up with sticks

I'm working on fattening up the tangs as we speak, tangs are prodigious poopers. I have the fish trained to wait until i release the nori rock, on this occasion i gave them a hand signal off camera to commence eating early. :reading: As you can see they're pretty much terrified of me and know who's the boss.
You can hear the amplified farty gurgling skimmer noise in the background.

Bigglefish coefficient buddy. I need you to count your fish and then divide the fish count by your display tank volume divided by ten.

mine is 140 gal divided by 10 = 14.
22 fish in the display.
22 divided by 14 = a BFC of 1.57

....

How this BFC work? Does it count school fish like blue chromis and anthias?

Mine is 190 gal with normal fish (e.g. clown, tang, wrasse, etc..) x 10 and school fish x 30...

So should it be 190 /10 = 19
10 fish / 19 = 0.52 or
40 / 19 = 2.1

School fish are only 1 inch long while others are 2 inch plus, and I don't consider my tank is high density.

HM!!! me thinks the canadian inch of fish per gallon argument may have caught on, even over in Taiwan!
Shih, good question!!
response dr. giggles???
oh.. did i write giggles??
I meant Giggles...........

Look, i am going to say this one more #%$#%$ time !

I don't care if it's a school of lamo 1" fish or a 4ft black tip reef shark - it counts as one $%#%@ FISH ! :mad2:

Your BFC number is 2.1 - you just ran down to the LFS and bought that school to win didn't ya mate.............:hammer:

My BFC is actually 1.179. I forgot a few fish when I calculated earlier.

Can no one follow the two decimal place rule..... :hammer: It's 1.18 Matt, still lower than mine and way lower than the cheater.
I find your 'i forgot a few fish' line a tad fanciful........ ROTM and you miscounted your fish......... yeah right....;)

2 stubby snowflake percula clowns
1 percula clown
1 pajama cardinal
1 Swallowtail angel
1 indigo dotyback
1 gray head wrasse
3 bangaii cardinals
1 Scopas Tang
1 Fire-clown
1 green wrasse
9 green chromis
1 mandarin
1 Powder blue tang
24 fish, 195 gallons. 1.23 BFC. That number keeps rising...maybe I'll swing by the fish store tomorrow:lolspin:

I guess at .82 I'm the biggest loser however I've been told mine is bigger than yours. :uzi:

Haha... I actually thought lowest number is the winner :lolspin:

I would suggest it should further divided by tank owner's BMI:cool:

I wouldn't put anything past you Matt.....:p

Nowhere near it buddy, our old mate Sahin takes the honors as usual. It's hard to hold a good BFC with two fish unless you have them in a gold fish bowl......;)

Just leave the complicated algorithms to me please mate, the science behind this would make no sense to you whatsoever. :reading:

I'm going to get in a lot of trouble from Reefvet over this BFC thing i think......... :blown:

Excuse the cloudy water but i was fiddling around in the sump :)
