A Splash of Color

A Splash of Color

Still haven't found a golden ticket in any of my Wonker bars but I'll keep looking. The access you have to amazing across is baffling.

Andrew that Wonka land shot at Dave's is crazy,That would be two YEARS worth of nice acro's around here. My only reaction after seeing that is to go bury my head in an old bucket of dolomite sand left over from the '80's!

Hey Scott, i said to Dave as soon as i walked in ' wow the acros are looking good '

' They looked a lot better yesterday didn't they Mark '

' Oh yeah today they're a bit poopy '

They're a bit poopy................ i thought they looked better than a bit poopy but apparently Dave and Mark are becoming bigger acro snobs than i am :p

I asked Dave what he thought of the delicate little fluoro tipped acro because i have a thing for fluoro acros as you know. I love the brightness during all lighting periods they bring to different parts of the scape and everything contrasts well against them. The cute little intact orange colony was Dave's reply, he thought the fluoro piece was very so so and questioned why i picked it considering what else was in the tank.

' I want another bright fluoro piece Dave, i just like them dotted around my scape for the pop they bring '

Willy Wonka Dave moment..........

' Didn't you like the pikachu '

' the what '

' the pikachu, you asked me a long time ago to keep an eye out for you '

Out comes his phone and he shows me the over saturated over everything pic of what is still an obvious rare color combo that i had shown Dave ages ago.

' Are you saying you have a fluoro yellow with red polyps acro here Dave ? '

' In the far back corner in the shade, i put it aside when you said you were coming this weekend '

Look at the big FTS of the shop tank in the back right corner, behind the right end of the big purple plastic frag display rock. I hadn't even had a good look back there because i assumed he'd put older less cool colored stuff there like he usually does.

It's not the same species but it does look to have great potential for a wild collected stand in, i'll get a few pics for you tomorrow. Don't expect anything outrageous like the pic above but it sure looks to have a similar color contrast and is about as close as i'm likely to ever get.

Hey Marty, i think you'll see more and more of this sort of stuff filtering through as aquacultured stock from Aus. The pink/red pastel hues that are coming through now are very pretty and in all manner of pigment color combos as you can see here.

I was going to buy the cute little 2" all blue thing if no one else wanted it before i left the shop but a guy walked in and snapped it up as it deserved to be. I already had a blue tennius and no idea where to fit it on the scape............ :uhoh3:

Unbelievable!

Even the big coral and trade show in Orlando had nothing that could compare to this one photo.

I never get used to it mate, i spend hours staring down at them wishing i had ten tanks...............:wildone:

A lot of those pieces had been in the tank for almost two weeks Kev, crazy

Now, i know i already had nowhere for the blue tennuis which is crazy pretty btw but since i couldn't pass up a pikachu looking piece i thought ' well there's no difference to having three too many pieces than two so i might as well get the little white skin nasuta with electric blue polyps.......'

The piece behind and right of the blue piece in this pic.

I didn't get a well focused shop pic but it shows you the colors

Andrew,
I have that piece in my tank.
I can grab a photo for you tomorrow in the morning.
It's been in my tank for over 1 month now and still colour alot nicer.
You will see tomorrow - visit my thread.

After seeing the pikachu and the purple polyped nasuta, I think you are the wonker, Andrew and I don't think I'm talking to you...... again.

Damn Andrew that's a lot of Matrix!

200/16 = 1L per 12.5g

29/2 = 1L per 14.5g

That means if I shove 2 Liters in my tiny *** biocube you will STILL have more per gallon than I do.

I'm coming over there now. I have to see deer park in person. Plus the rest of your beautiful country. I need to get scuba certified before I come though.

I think you have a great shop there. Thanks for sharing the pictures of how to pick an acro. I've always read your writing with an Australian accent in my head. Now I have no idea how to read your posts. I need a narrated video.

Don't try to out matrix me Tim............. i'll just get more mate........ just add the other liter and be happy you even got close to my numbers buddy..... :twitch:

Nice corals you have

Thanks mate.

Dave's pick for a possible cherry blossom red all over acro was the little piece top second from the left. I disagreed and left it because i have heaps of red/pink pigments already in the display and don't want it to end up looking like a barbie doll house......... ;)

Just caught up with the last 5 pages. The quality of those corals is just ridiculous. :)

Hi Mark, $300- and you would walk out of Dave's with any ten of your choice..... :)

Here it is Andrew.

That's the one mate, yours looks to be growing very compact compared to mine. Are you giving it a fair bit of flow Kevin. Looks awesome

Winners are grinners Tim

As close as i've managed to get to something resembling yellow and red - not exactly stunning but you never know what might happen i guess. It'll probably end up green with brown polyps :hmm5:

300 bucks for ten acros, holy crap! That would buy me one decent colony here... And most of the time a box coming in is about 5 pieces. Not much to choose from :(
Keep posting these pictures man its great to see what you have to choose from out there! Any luck getting your phosphates leveled out?

The acros are beautiful as always.....It's hit the point of expectation for you to post beautiful acros made of Unobtanium.

But those Monsoon Wrasses!!!

Wow....!
