99% sure on purpose. A lot of reefers are running their skimmer less and less.

Honestly, I've seen some GREAT sps tanks run without a skimmer... All that gunk is free floating coral food, and skimmers were invented in the era of 0 phosphate and Nitrate is a good thing -- Those days are dead. And skimmers may be gone in 8-10 years for all we know.

Hey Greg, it's Monday morning and i have the day off and nothing to do except potter around and take the odd snap or two......

This morning before the radiums came on. The fish know they are going to get 2 cubes of mysis first thing to start every day off with full tummies so they swarm me until the net goes in lol.

This little guy owns all three acros on the back right corner island and sleeps in the middle of them at night.

This cardinal went for quality over quantity and chose wisely imo........

I want to go live with your cardinals. I think I could make them happy, Andrew.
That blue tabler has the same blue as an Oregon tort. It's amazing.

I'm ordering a couple new Aussie pieces but my LFS only special orders them (few people around here will pay Aussie Acro price lol)... so I give him a species name and a color and hope for the best. Haha! I want something that I won't find in an aquaculture order.

Since Andrews 14 hours ahead of me; I'm sure Dom got a special pass for Andrew so he can attend Thursday night gentlemen SPS meeting, at Daves' tonight. Since Dom did forget to buy some frags, for Andrew, at the swap meet. Since it will be Andrews first night. I'm sure he will get some sort of discount.

I'm going to look into those cardinals. They are very nice looking fish.

You should mate, they have a slight pink hue to all their fins when they're fat and healthy.

They're an inexpensive fish too, it's always nice when a good looking fish isn't $40 -_-

I used a tube of putty that had too much of something in it and i had foam suds in the overflow and sump....... needless to say the skimmer lost the plot completely. It took 8 days before i could run it and that was with the pump intake half blocked for 24 hrs until the crap was totally removed.
Only had it back running with normal settings yesterday, i gave it a vinegar clean for a couple of hours running in a tub when it was off so it's still building up a decent slime coating and won't really fire up for another day or two.

LOL I hope you know you've sold me on these fish with this post.

I need the skimmer Tim, my water is too rich with crap if anything mate. Having said that i didn't see anything negative when it was off which surprised me.

The front view is better Matt, it has red polyps except for the axial tips which are white. I will get a pic of the other table i have that is turning out to be a carbon copy of this one, it was sulky for at least a year but has finally perked up.

A. willisae Mindy, i preferred the baby blue violet pearl skin it had when i spotted it in Dave's glass bucket of yummy. The color shift was dramatic as you can see lol.
