Yesterday when I woke up the power was out and come to find out it was out for around 10 hours. My tank was 73 degrees, I quickly ran out and bought heat packs. I called the electric company and they had a recording stating that thousands of people were without electricity and they had no time frame on when it would be restored. I Quickly went to my friend house to pick up his truck so I could go to my parents house to pick up a generator, mind you none of these locations are close together. By the time I got back the power was on(just my luck). Everything in tank looked fine but my powder blue tank was MIA. Upon looking for him, he was on the bottom of the tank up side down, wedged between rocks but still alive and not looking good. It was around 11:30AM and I was observing him for a few hours. He was floating from one rock to another looking terrible. I felt so bad for him. Upon further observing, I noticed that he had cheato and lots of it coming out of his butt.
He finally came to the front of the tank to where I could get him out and put him in my sump. I figured if he was going to die, I could get him out easily. I thought that I should pull the cheato out of him because maybe he was constipated? I pulled it out and he still looked bad laying up side down and not moving, I thought he was a goner for sure. About an hour latter he had a bunch more cheato coming out of him and I pulled it out again. Through out the night he was on the bottom of my sump not moving but breathing. Around 2 in the morning, to my surprise, he was swimming upright in the sump looking fine, so I thought I would leave him the sump overnight and see how he looks in the morning. Today he is fine, put him back in the display, he ate and is swimming around like nothing happened.
