A thank you for slightly leaky 120 gal

Recently I was lucky enough to recieve a 120 gal acrylic tank from a very nice reefer in Davis. It had sprung a leak and had a melted crossbrace and he was disposing of it. I repaired the crossbrace and fixed the leak. I am now very close to finishing setting up the tank itself. I made an aragocrete rock wall for it that fits smooth against the back glass and have a few pillars that I am waiting on to cure for the finishing touches. This will become my new and improved all anemone tank. In fact I am trying to find a pair of 250 watt metal halides to install in the hood that I made for this. A little sand (four inches at least) is also forthcoming. I never got to meet you, but I did want to express my thanks for the tank. (I had gotten pretty beaten up about my current anem tank and was looking for something bigger for them and a few days later...) Again, thanks.

No Worries - Glad to hear that you are enjoying it! It was my first tank and loads of fun - then became the bain of my existeance for three days while it was leaking - Now it is a fond memory as I enjoy my new 180 :)

While i'm not one for a tank full of rock, you managed to keep an open frame work which looks really good. Post up some pics once all of the nems are in.

Yeah, the tank is still a long ways away from being finished. Stilll am waiting on the rest of my pillars to cure before I can put them in. I need to get sand for the substrate, and I am still looking for a pair of metal halides for the canopy. Then I can start moving animals in. I figure about three more months before the rockwork becomes live and could support anems. I just finally got the rock into the tank after a month of the rock being in my pond. Patience is a virtue in this hobby and I am trying to do things right. Figured now would be a good time to show the previous owner my gratitude. Hope the 180 provides you with years of happiness MKENT. And again, thank you.
