A very sad day

http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Hydrogen_peroxide

so Im guessing you overdosed the tank....in my opinion i would just stick to water changes to try and get ride of algae.

If i was to ever try this method... which i wont...i would have taken the rock out with the algae problem and treated it then washed it off then put it back in the tank. sorry to hear about your tank...

I've rarely had problems with algae. If any it's due to PO4 too high from being lazy. The best advice I can give is not to focus on killing the algae as much as to focus on removing the source of nutrition. Get Mexican Turbos and friendly emerald crabs, possibly a tang if tank volume permits it.

I knew hydrogen peroxide to kill algae off live rock, but not in a running tank.
This would not have been a solution to an algae problem and only make things worse.
