It was pretty windy and the light was pretty bad, but I though I would get a few pics in this morning... I'm just now getting comfortable taking it off the auto settings:lol:

Nice. :D

What type of light diffuser did you use for these shots?

Thank you... No diffuser. Just an XT, a 100mm macro and poor lighting on a partly cloudy day:D

That's great light for stuff like that. Nothing "poor" about it. Nice job Hop.

Now, quick, kill those dandelions.

Thanks! The dandelion was quickly dealt with shortly after the pictures:lol: However, I am not sure a 6 year old and a plastic rake is the best removal method!

I just assumed these were taken indoors (perhaps in some make shift home studio) when you said "It was pretty windy and the light was pretty bad." I would never guess the lighting was natural and the sharp Dandelion macros are almost impossible on a windy day. How the heck did you manage a low ISO and fast enough shutter speed in low light with those Dandelions?

Great capture! :)

Sorry for the miscommunication there. It was windy and partly cloudy, but the dandelion was behind some rocks and wasn't affected too much in between gusts. On those I believe I set the camera in AV and set the F-stop and let the camera do the work on the shutter speed... I'm still so new to manual setting and am trying to learn my way around the camera. I just don't have the time I would like to figure it all out:lol:

Thanks again!

Freaking amazing shots! Wish I could get one that looked that great. I never can....but I don't have no XT either :D
