A whole new kind of respect to anemones

So I was just snorkeling in the Maldives, I was literally in like 20" of water by the sandy beach taking some GoPro videos of the baby sharks that roam the beach. Then I felt an excruciating pain in my thigh, I landed on a whole head of some sort of a green colored sand anemone. My thigh has been on FIRE for the past 4 days and it seems like the stingers were embedded deep into my skin with frequent toxin release.

Luckily for aquarium anemones, we rarely touch them and if we do, the skin of our palms is thick enough to withstand the sting.

Just wanted to share my experience :-) be careful guys.

Of the sting and of the anemone if you have it

Here is the shot of the sting. Didn't get a chance to take a photo of the anemone.
