Aaaagh!

My boyfriend wakes me up this morning telling me not only is he running late for work, but our stupid anemone went and got himself stuck in one of the powerheads.

There were anemone parts EVERYWHERE. EVERYWHERE!!!

So I got to disassemble the powerhead and nearly puke my guts out over the toilet ripping what was left of the anemone out of the slats of the powerhead. I'm not sure what was worse: the SOUND it made, or what it FELT like.

So now our tank is nice and polluted (although it looks better now, yay protein skimmers...). My boyfriend took my tiny MR2 to work, while I get to take his big MKIII Supra to the fish store and buy more water and do a water swap (which we did only three days ago) and try to make sure we don't lose any fish or coral.

RASSUM FRASSUM.

NO MORE BUBBLE TIPS. NEVER AGAIN. We had one before haul off and foul the tank, too.

UGH!

yah, those nems get nasty quick after they die, especially in a powerhead. Sorry you had such a rough start this morning.

Run carbon. Dont do big water changes all at once. just do a bit every now and then throughout the day.

I'd do the full 25 gallons. Just make sure the salt is well mixed and aerated.

Actually, there's nothing to fear about doing very large (50-90%) WCs, as long as the salt has been well mixed and matched to the tank water.

We actually buy the water from the LFS. It's in a HUGE tank by itself already mixed and aerated.

It's easier for us to get it that way as opposed to flooding our bathroom (AGAIN) mixing our own.

Thanks for the help, everyone.
