It ain't a threat. I doubt a corporate office anywhere would be cool with ****ing off a customer over 20 dollars.

And I was nice. Very nice. I usually am toward employees, because I'm just happy to see people working.

But when someone comes in who obviously has an issue, let's try to take care of them instead of stonewalling some BS.

"We don't garuntee saltwater."

Me: "you mean you can't garuntee your animals are healthy? Why would I want to buy them then?"


Oh and there is no signage.

if their policy is no returns on salt water fish and they don't follow the policy, why have the policy? like i said before, i don't think you were dealing with a franchisee. i think petco are all company owned?

They still sell fish online. You are redirected to liveaquaria since the marriage

yes, i know...i bought a magnificent foxface and a black blenny from petco and saved about $60 dollars over LA. A month later what back to buy some lyretails and was directed to LA's web site; same fish, higher price!!!:rolleye1:

That's exactly what I told them.
 
Not trying to come off rude but there are signs in all the petco's ive been in that say there are no warranties on sw fish so im not sure why you went so far to get your money back. Ive bought a few fish from there years ago that i still have in my tank today but have lost a couple, that was a risk i was willing to take.
 
This has been discussed many times. They don't care about your unpleasant visit or bad customer service. Many many pet owners have sent in complaints and suggestions with very little response if any from the corporation. They continue to show profits so all is well.
 
By the way, all of the Petcos I've been to in the Atlanta area have those gross pieces of "live rock" in the tanks with the tags still on. If they don't know what they are selling, they should probably not be selling it.
 
I wrote Corp before and got a return phone call from the idiot manager that caused me to write them in the first place. Got a bs story. Nothing was resolved and they had no intention of resolving the problem.
 
My point exactly a few posts up. They don't plan to make money off educated buyers. Think about it for a second :rolleyes:
 
I'm not sure why people are so surprised about petco. They get brought up quite often and I find nothing about them surprising.
 
The PetCo close to my hometown is surprisingly wonderful when it comes to their SW department. One of the managers is very knowledgable and actually knows how to take care of the livestock. I have 3 fish that are 2 years old now from that store. I recently moved though and visited the local peptic here and, oh my. Its terrible. I bought 3 snails, 2 hermit crabs, and a cleaner shrimp when i first upgraded my tank and they all died the next following 3 days. I called the manager and he said sorry nothing we can do. I emailed customer service, something happened, and they were totally willing to replace the livestock or give me a full refund, pending a water test. I was never rude or threatening, i just expect something to live at least a week. Ended up getting my money back and shopped at a local store i found 20 minutes away.
