Abberant verrucae or cyst on S. Gigantea?

Hello,
I received a Gigantea for Christmas.
The nem is not in the best of health, but hanging in there. As soon as I took it out of the bag, I noticed what seemed to be an enlarged verrucae on the underside of the nem. I thought it was a cyst or something....do they get those?

Over time, it almost looks like abberant tentacles or possibly it was injured and it's growing back funny?

Anyone seen this before? Do I worry about it? Well, I guess I can't do anything about it whether or not I worry.
:)

Here is when it looked like an enlarged verrucae or cyst. It was colored purple, just like the verrucae.

Now, a more recent picture of what it looks like. Would I need to do anything proactive, any signs to watch for that would signal trouble?

As you know, I don't know much about Gigs, and more about Haddonis, but I am wondering if that is part of it budding? Or that it started too and didn't finish? Looks like those are a few tentacles coming from it.

And why didn't you tell me that you got another one? ;)

Tobb: I didn't think it was budding because I thought Gigantea reproduce sexually? I'm leaning towards injury and some weird healing?

I didn't tell because it's a jinx! You didn't tell me you got another either until I saw for myself.

Touche` mister pussycat.

I thought most ( if not all ) anemones reproduce sexually, but I don't which ones bud also, I know that at least one of the "carpets" do.

Fair enough -- don't blame you about the jinx. But, I have told you about all of mine that I have bought, you just don't remember. ;) Have one coming this week -- pending the weather.

And "mister pussycat" ??? I am going to lose my tough guy imagine if you keep saying that. ;)

I mean Mister Toughguy Pussycat.

When the cat's away the mouse will play

You are in big trouble shorty. ;)

But, that will be the extent of getting back at you -- you have done too much for me, so I will let you tease all you want.

(( but, remember you have seen my temper. ;) ))
