ABC Reefs1 5/30 frag swap

I know they had one in November (their annual) AND in February to break up the short days. This one was generated by customer requests, they are obliging.

Same rules apply, call ahead. Reserve a table to set up a tank, or just show up and swap!

Since I'm new to this hobby, how do these "swaps" take place? Only a swap meet or will I be able to purchase things with money?

And this is the original ABC reefs in Solvay? Been to that store once, seemed a bit overpriced to me, but the staff was very knowledgeable, and very friendly. Actually met one guy who has a sister who lives way up north here.

There's more buying and selling going on than "swapping". Local reefers will set up tables with their stuff for sale, and the store usually has good sales that day too.

FRAG SWAP MAY 30TH
A few weeks out and gaining momentum. If you want to set up a tank and sell some home grown livestock PLEASE call and sign up for a spot ASAP. We are expecting a big turn out and want to make sure everyone has enough space. There will be CRAZY deals, FREE food, and SPECIAL guests so stay tuned for those announcements as well.

If you happen to love certain fish that always end up being a pain to get to eat, like I do, then the following may help. We brought in PODS and SALTWATER FEEDER SHRIMP this week. Pods are great at repopulating your systems especially if you happen to have a hungry Mandarin or seahorse hunting around.

Get those special requests in as the wholesalers have promised us access to some amazing stuff this week. Enjoy and I hope to see everyone soon.

who is running abc these days? seems like new faces? what happened to Jeremy? I haven't seen him in awhile? can't wait for the the swap

Bob is the manager now I believe. Tim and Jeremy went their separate ways. I don't really know the details there. Tim is still the owner.

Hi guys,

I've been in the hobby for about a year now, but have never been to a swap. Is there a "community tank" at these things? I have a few things, not too much though, a couple 3" green BN frags, 5-4 1.5", maybe 2-3 1" RBTA if I can get them off the rocks safely. I'm coming from over an hour away so I dont' want to risk the stress on them if I there isn't a possibility of trading/selling them.

Also, I have a pair of clowns (female grade B Picasso, male snowflake) that I'd like to re-home if possible. I'm not sure if fish are allowed, and I definitely won't be putting them through the stress unless someone absolutely will take them. If this is allowed and someone wants them let me know and we can make arrangements.

I would contact Tim at ABC. He might be able to hook you up for displaying corals and let you know about the clowns. Tim's super laid back, he'll shoot ya straight.

Thanks! I'll send him an email.

I also have an empty SpecV sitting in a closet and a spare 10 gal, so I could setup a small tank. If anyone else only has a couple things and would like to share space let me know and we can work something out.
