I finally have everything ready to install the bubble traps in my sump but I have a question about evap.

My plan is to make 3 chambers in my sump. The left will be the return pump, center will be LR, sand and chaeto and the right side will be the skimmer and water from tank.

My question, will the evap occur in the center section?? I want to make sure that this setup will maintain a constant water level for the skimmer.

Thanks!!

the skimmer and middle section will maintain the same amount of water,it will go low on pump side..atleast thats what mine does lol

The first 2 will allways stay the same height as glass as long as no holes and you have it caulked good. the return 3rd chamber will lose the water i lose about 1- 2 gallons a day but everyones different depending on tons of factors im sure.

I second this. I'd make sure that it's as large as you can manage even if you plan on running an ATO. Always nice to have a good cushion.

Ok, that will work then. I can definitely reduce the size of the center section, I don't need that much room there.

Thanks for the quick responses!!! :D
